CONCEPT SKETCHES
In addition to the sagittal brain slice used for the map in “Your Journey Through ADHD” (with a concept sketch above), I enjoyed sketching and researching topics not typically associated with medical illustration. This gallery contains some character and environment concept sketches made during production.
These thumbnails for the prefrontal cortex looked at a forest environment with axon trees as the primary vegetation.
These thumbnails for the dACC (dorsal anterior cingulate cortex) were explored a glacial/ice cavern environment.
These thumbnails for the corpus callosum were for an airy sky environment that drew from the ideas of cloud fields and sky bridges.
These thumbnails for the basal ganglia looked at different ideas for an underwater seascape environment.
These thumbnails for the cerebellum were for an arid desert environment and explored different types of textured topography.
This image includes sketches of character design concepts for the four characters used in the ADHD patient education wall poster and brochure.
